Amelia Forsyth-Smith Actor: A Passionate Actor
Undeniable Talent

About
A Born Actor
I started studying acting as a means of improving my confidence and presentation skills at work. I instead discovered a new passion working as a Actor out of my pure love of the arts. I have always enjoyed performing and entertaining others, and spent many years performing and traveling around the globe as Tenor Drummer for the Australian Federal Police Pipes and Drums. But since discovering acting I have been making appearances on both the big and small screens, working hard to develop my skills with each passing day. Contact me to find out more information and how we can start working together.

Short Film "The Talk" a winner!
The Talk wins Best Cinematography at the Gammacon Blue Shift Short Film Competition.
This was a great little project with a fabulous cast and crew. I am so greatful to have had the opportunity to be involved.
The Gammacon Blue Shift Short film competition is designed for SciFi Fantasy filmmakers, and must include a line to prove it was made within a certain time frame.
There were many wonderful submissions, and the Blue Carpet Event on 3 August was a load of fun.
Congratulations to George Tsotsos, for winning Best Cinematography for this film.

Starting out in the Entertainment Industry
as a mature lady
As a kid, I wanted nothing more than to be an actress. I had grand plans and was heavily involved in local amateur theatre. But back then, living in a public service town with little access to training and even fewer people who knew what to do, the dream gave way to the reality of building the “normal life”. A nine to five desk job with security, relationships, university degrees, mortages etc. I swear I feel asleep in my early 20s, and woke up in my mid-30s, in a mundane monotonous job and very little joy.
I had achieved a few things though. Having played the Tenor Drum with the Canberra City Pipes and Drums since the age of ten, I have had the opportunity to perform around the globe, including:
2009 Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Australian Federal Police Pipes and Drums (AFPPD)
2007 Kremlin Zoria International Tattoo Moscow – AFPPD
2005 Norfolk Island – Victory in the Pacific Anniversary Celebrations
As I progressed through my professional public service career, my job increasingly required me to be able to stand up in front of a crowd and talk about a given subject. So I began toying with the idea of taking a lass in presentation skills.
Then one evening while at a friends house celebrating a birthday, I think it was one of her sons, maybe it was hers... there was cake... while eating cake with her youngest, who I think was about 6 years old at the time, we were discussing the future. I asked him, as many adults ask kids, what do you want to be when you grow up? He said with steely determination in a rather dramatic fashion “I want to be an actor”. Of course I mentioned I wanted to be an actor when I grew up, but I never got around to it. In all his 6 year old wisdom, he simply responded “why don’t you do it now?”
For some reason, that stuck with me over the next few nights, and I decided to dip my toe in the water. I would do an Acting 101 short course. It would address the presentation skills I needed for work, and allow me to begin exploring the world of performance once again.
In that short course however, I discovered a whole new passion. From that passion, I decided to start a weight loss vlog, to encourage me to lose weight (and at that time I really, really needed to). Once I had lost a bit of weight, I applied for a couple of modelling and extra jobs. To my surprise, I was actually cast. The more I applied to the more I was being cast in a variety of roles. I began to take the acting more and more seriously, until I got to the point of beginning to build a business from it.
And that is the story of how a very old dream, became a passion. A life consuming, joyous passion.
